This bowl is a real party animal. Standing a whopping 6"
high and 14-3/4" in diameter it holds enough salad to feed a
passing regiment. The capacity of this bowl is compounded by
the simple lines of the design, no wasted corners, just simple
flowing lines. In Ash this bowl is big enough to let the
figuring of the wood show to best and full advantage and Ash
is the wood to show off.
John McLeod has a special place in
his heart for Ash. Way back as a very young man he was
commissioned to turn two offertory plates for a Scottish
church. He made them in Ash and was entranced by the wild
beauty of the grain. He remembers thinking he would like to
work with this wood. Well from church collection plates to
party salad bowls is a leap but so is a large ocean and more
than half a century, but the grain is still as beautiful and
makes this bowl an exciting presentation piece for any
occasion. When allied to our bowl stand it also makes a
stunning Ceasar Salad preparation point. Matching individual
bowls are available.
