intrigued by the shape and name, but also by it's origins, which
according to the Vermont Bowl Company, goes as follows...
The bowl has nothing to do with the new currency in Europe, but rather the
the "Euro" wooden salad bowl has all to do with the
style of design associated with the Bauhaus period - a
German style of architecture begun by Walter Gropius in 1918,
characterized by a functionalist approach to design. The Euro
is a wonderful piece of "retro" which has an immediate appeal
to the modern eye. Good design styling is timeless and so the
Vermont Bowl Company has brought back this bowl which they
first produced in the middle of last century and which has a
worthy place on todays tabletop. Available in Yellow Birch (shown),
Cherry, and Black Walnut sizes; Large, Medium, Small,
and Individual.
