Vermont Sage appetizer cheese!
You've probably heard of "Derby Sage" or "Sage Derby" cheese, which
is a very green semi-soft vegetarian cheese made from cow's milk,
spinach juice or green vegetable dye, and dried sage herb.
Vermont Sage by Sugarbush Farm is also a semi-soft cheese.
A mellow cheddar with flecks of sage herb are added during the
cheese-making process giving this tasty cheddar a bit of zip.
It's an excellent choice to put on a cheese tray along with water crackers
and fresh grapes, kiwis, pears, and strawberries. Sage cheese also
complements fresh vegetables.
About Sugarbush Farm -
When you think of Sugarbush Farm, think of a small 550 acre working farm
located in central Vermont. Jack and Marion Ayres bought the
farm in 1945 with a dream to make a go of country living.
They were the first folks in Vermont to start packaging cheese
in waxed bars so they would travel well without refrigeration.
Second generation Betsy Luces, her husband Larry, along with their sons and their wives are
now working together to keep this family farm alive.
