Smoked on the farm for 3 days this Vermont cheese is delightfully
smooth with enough maple flavor to remind you of the Green Mountain State,
maple sugaring, and cool smoke. One of Sugarbush's and
PIECES OF VERMONT's® most popular cheeses. In fact,
the American Cheese Society even awarded this cheese in 1995 a
blue ribbon First Prize Winner for Best Smoked Cheese in America.
Delicious as a snack with crackers, but we prefer it with breakfast. There's
nothing like scrammbled eggs, hash browns, and bacon with a slab or
two of Maple-smoked cheese. YUM!!
About Sugarbush Farm -
When you think of Sugarbush Farm, think of a small 550 acre working farm
located in central Vermont. Jack and Marion Ayres bought the
farm in 1945 with a dream to make a go of country living.
They were the first folks in Vermont to start packaging cheese
in waxed bars so they would travel well without refrigeration.
Second generation Betsy Luces, her husband Larry, along with their sons and their wives are
now working together to keep this family farm alive.
Sugarbush cheese is made the traditional way - a small
operation which ensures great cheese flavor and exceptional
quality. All Sugarbush cheeses are hand cut, hand wrapped, and hand dipped
in three coats of special cheese coating wax that locks in the
peak flavor and allows for safe shipping and long keeping.
