An all-round Vermont cheddar
Aged for 18 months this Vermont cheddar is the youngest in the
Sugarbush Farm family of cheeses, but don't be fooled, this
white cheddar has excellent flavor and is perfect for a
moderate sharp cheddar lover. It's delicious
atop fresh baguette slices drizzled with raspberry salad dressing and
topped with fresh spinach and tomato. YUM! (see recipe photo below).
It's also the perfect cheddar for cooking because it melts well and
doesn't overpower the other flavors in the dish. A good all round
cheese that rarely gets even a mixed review. As a beverage complement
we suggest a versatile Pilsner beer.
About Sugarbush Farm -
When you think of Sugarbush Farm, think of a small 550 acre working farm
located in central Vermont. Jack and Marion Ayres bought the
farm in 1945 with a dream to make a go of country living.
They were the first folks in Vermont to start packaging cheese
in waxed bars so they would travel well without refrigeration.
Second generation Betsy Luces, her husband Larry, along with their sons and their wives are
now working together to keep this family farm alive.
