About Grafton Village Cheese -
Making Vermont cheese has long been a Vermonter tradiition. Dairy cows grazing in
rugged mountain pastures are a familiar sight throughout the state,
and the milk they produce is one of Vermont's natural
treasures, used to make some of the world's best cheddar
cheese. The quaint, historic village of Grafton, Vermont is the
setting for a unique cheddar company, now with operations in
Brattleboro, Vermont as well. Cheese-making
traditions in the village of Grafton date back to the 19th century.
Today, a commitment to exceptional quality of taste and flavor
are the reputation of Grafton's award-winning cheeses.
Grafton cheese is handcrafted and made in small batches
from the milk of Jersey cows that graze on several Vermont
farms. These artisanal cheeses are free of chemical
additives, synthetic growth hormones or preservatives.
The milk is delicately handled and made into cheese by Grafton's
artisan cheese-makers within 10-13 hours of having been
delivered fresh from the farm. The natural aging of Grafton
cheese and high butterfat protein from the milk used, give
each cheese an exceptionally creamy and robust
flavor.
Why we like Grafton Cheese-
Both PIECES OF VERMONT® owner Rick Smith
and Robb Family Farm
owners Charlie Sr. & Helen Robb are proud to offer this delicious Vermont cheese.
We have served Grafton's Premium Cheddar at our dinner tables for years.
And in fact, Rick grew up in Grafton Vermont and use to swim in the Saxtons River,
right behind the original Grafton Village Cheese Company.
"Grafton cheese is truly exceptional. I've known people who work for the company and I've
certainly eaten enough of their cheese to say it's worth the money. I won't say it's the best I've
ever had, but it is very good cheese. And if you don't think so, let me know and I'll make sure
you get a full refund." - Rick Smith
