John McLeod has a special place in his heart for Ash. Way back as a very young man he was commissioned to turn two offertory plates for a Scottish church. He made them in Ash and was entranced by the wild beauty of the grain. He remembers thinking he would like to work with this wood. Well, from church collection plates to party salad bowls is a leap but so is a large ocean and more than half a century, but the grain is still as beautiful and makes this bowl an exciting presentation piece for any occasion.
